COMPOSITION:
1 tablet contains Calcium Gluconicum 0,5g (potato, starch, talc, magnesium stearate gelatin).
PROPERTIES AND ACTION:
Calcium is a basic mineral constituent essential to hold an electrolytic equilibrium in the organism and to the correct functioning of numerous regulating mechanisms. It is a substantial component of the osseous tissue, and conditions nerve conduction and contraction of the striated muscles. It is indispensable in the process of blood coagulation. Decreasing the permeability of blood vessel walls, calcium has an anti-effusion, anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic effect. It stimulates defensive mechanisms of the organism. Calcium deficiency leads to nerve-muscular disorders and demineralisation of bones.
INDICATIONS:
It is used in states of increased demand for calcium (e.g. in the period of intensive growth in children or youths, during pregnancy, lactation or convalescence), in states of calcium deficiency in the organism, during treatment for osteoporosis of different origins (also preventively), tetany, in assisting treatment for allergies, inflammatory conditions (e.g. in diseases of the respiratory system), bone fracture and rachitis.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Hypersensitiveness to calcium salts, hypercalcemia (e.g. in patients with hyperactivity of parathyroid glands, hypervitaminosis D), severe kidney disease. Precautions should be taken in patients treated with cordial glycosides or eginephrine. Calcium salts should not be taken together with large doses of vitamin D. Calcium salts should be used with precaution in severe kidney disease, heart disease or stone disease.
INTERACTIONS:
Calcium salts received orally decrease absorption of antibiotics and fluorine compounds (a 3-hour interval between the intake of these medications and calcium salts is required). Absorption of calcium is increased by vitamin D, parathormone and acid reaction of food. Absorption of calcium is decreased by glycocorticosteroids, excess of lipids, alkaline reaction of food, phytinians (grain products), oxalates (spinach, rhubarb), phosphates (milk and diary products). Large doses of calcium taken together with cordial glycosides (derivatives of dygocsin and strophanthin) enhance the effect of the medicines and may lead to arrhythmia of the heart. Thiazide diuretics increase reflexive absorption of calcium and create a risk of hypercalcemia Large doses of calcium together with vitamin D may reduce the effect of verapamil and other medicines blocking the calcium canal.
DOSAGE:
Medical treatment as determined by the doctor. Otherwise, adults 1-2 tablets 3-4 times a day with meals.
ADVERSE REACTIONS:
Occasionally after an oral intake gastrointestinal disorders (flatulence, constipation or diarrhoea) may occur. Large doses taken orally by patients with kidney disease lead to hypercalcemia , which shows in lack of appetite, gastrointestinal disorders, muscle impairment, polyuria, tissue calcifications (e.g. stone disease) and in extreme cases arrhythmia of the heart and coma.

3 years from the date of production.
